Rice
In this page, I will explain how to cook Japanese rice (sticky rice), which is the most basic and common food for Japanese dishes.

1. Measure rice and put them into a bowl (it can be a normal one, but easier with the one with small holes), "wash"(we call it 研ぐ[togu], which means polish) rice.

2. Put rice into a pot and pour water, and wait for more than 30 minutes.
After color of rice turn from semitransparent to white, it's time to cook!

3. Close the pot lid and put it on medium heat until it comes to a boil. After confirming boiling, keep medium heat and cook for 2 minutes (use a timer!)

4. After 2 minutes, heat over between medium and low heat for 3 minutes. Then heat over the lowest heat for 5-7 minutes.

5. Open the lid a bit and check if there's water like the picture below. If there is, keep heating for 1-2 minutes with the lid. If there is not, stop heating and put the lid back, then wait for 10 minutes to steam cook.

6. After steaming, open the lid and mix it from the bottom.

7. It's ready to eat! If you didn't finish it, you can wrap rice with plastic wrap and freeze it. It will last around 3-4 weeks.
