Konnyaku (Konjac)

Have you tried this jelly-like food?? This is konnyaku (konjac), made from the bulb of the konjac plant (it looks like a taro!). You can use this for many purposes (e.g. Nikujyaga, Miso soup), but in this recipe, we will fry it.

Ingredients
Konnyaku (Konjac)
1 pack (250-300g)
sugar
1 tablespoon
soy source
4 teaspoons (1 tbsp. + 1 tsp.)
sesame oil
2-3 tablespoons
Dried red chili peppers
(optional)
1-2 pieces

1. Cut konnyaku into pieces with a spoon   {Why do we use a spoon?? --> konnyaku will absorb more seasonings!}

2. Put konnyaku into boiling water and wait water for boil again. At the same time, put sesame oil into a pan and heat it (low heat).

3. Drain the water from the konnyaku and heat it over medium heat (oil might splatter! Be careful!)

4. Add all the other ingredients into the pan, and heat until seasonings are mixed well with konnyaku.

5. It's ready to serve ;)

If you keep them in the fridge, try eating without heating again! The taste gets denser! (in my opinion)
